Week One
Make it/Name it has students learning to represent numbers using a variety of place value equipment, and name a number when it is represented with place value equipment. In pairs, (teacher aide/student) then (student/student), one person makes a number and the other person names it, or one person names a number and the other person makes it.
Fast 4 is designed to develop a student's ability to work quickly and independently. There are four tasks to complete. We often observe students who struggle with maths, doing the least amount of maths during class. This activity focuses on developing a student's ability to independently work out what to do, start quickly, work quickly, and fully complete all tasks.
